چکیده
We study the correlated dynamics of few interacting bosonic impurities immersed in a one-dimensional harmonically trapped environment. The mixture is exposed to time-dependent impurity-medium interaction pulse moving it across relevant phase-separation boundary. For modulation frequencies smaller than trapping one, system successively transits through miscible and immiscible phases according driving interactions. strong modulations, from regime, significant fraction expelled edges bath. Transient Radiative Heat Transfer in a Cubic Participating Medium Subjected to a Diffuse Square Pulse Train
Three-dimensional numerical computations were carried out to understand the overlap effect of the transmitted pulses in a cubic participating medium subjected to a diffuse square pulse train using the transient discrete ordinates method with the pulse boundary condition. In concrete terms, the effects of the pulse width and pulse train interval on the divergence of radiative heat flux were scru...
متن کاملInteraction of Moving Breathers with an Impurity
We analyze the influence of an impurity in the evolution of moving discrete breathers in a Klein–Gordon chain with non-weak nonlinearity. Three different behaviours can be observed when moving breathers interact with the impurity: they pass through the impurity continuing their direction of movement; they are reflected by the impurity; they are trapped by the impurity, giving rise to chaotic br...
متن کاملNearest pattern interaction and global pattern formation
We studied the effect of nearest pattern interaction on a global pattern formation in a two-dimensional space, where patterns are to grow initially from a noise in the presence of a periodic supply of energy. Although our approach is general, we found that this study is relevant in particular to the pattern formation on a periodically vibrated granular layer, as it gives a unified perspective o...
متن کاملMagnetic properties of impurities and impurity pairs in magnetic multilayers
Spin-dependent scattering is considered to be the origin of giant magnetoresistance in magnetic multilayers, although the role of bulk or interface defects is still under discussion. We present calculations of spin-dependent impurity scattering potentials as a function of the impurity position in a Co/Cu-multilayer. The calculations are performed within spin density functional theory using a Gr...
متن کاملAnderson impurity in a correlated conduction band
We investigate the physics of a magnetic impurity with spin 1/2 in a correlated metallic host. Describing the band by a Hubbard Hamiltonian, the problem is analyzed using dynamical mean-field theory in combination with Wilson's nonperturbative numerical renormalization group. We present results for the single-particle density of states and the dynamical spin susceptibility at zero temperature. ...
